"Franziska Lange ist experimentelle Dokumentarfotografin, Foto-Aktivistin und Künstlerin. Nachdem sie autodidaktisch als Event-, Street- und Auftragsfotografin gearbeitet hat – inklusive Reisen in über 20 Länder und 6 Jahre Erfahrungen hinter Kameras in der Erotik-Industrie – begann sie 2019 mit einem Stipendium ihr Fotografie Studium, welches sie als Jahrgangsbeste mit dem polarisierenden Projekt HOW WE BLEED (howwebleed.org) im Jahr 2021 abschloss. Als das "erste dokumentarische Perioden-Bildarchiv" erhielt das gemeinnützige Projekt große mediale Aufmerksamkeit und löste kontroverse öffentliche Debatten aus.
Geprägt von chronischen Schmerzen infolge einer angeborenen Wirbelsäulen-Anomalie sowie von ihrer ursprünglichen Ausbildung im Gesundheitsbereich, ist Franziskas Arbeit tief in sozialen und körperlichen Realitäten verwurzelt. Ihre Projekte, von denen einige partizipativ oder interaktiv angelegt sind, untersuchen den menschlichen Körper, Schmerz, Krankheit, Beziehungen, Feminismus, Liebe, Sex und die Psyche. Sie zielen darauf ab, Tabus herauszufordern und entgegenzuwirken, Bildung und Bewusstsein zu fördern sowie Räume der Sichtbarkeit zu schaffen, wo oft Schweigen herrscht.
Neben vielen Reportagen für das VICE Magazine wurden Franziska's Arbeiten unter anderem von ZEIT, Fluter, Deutschlandfunk, Bild der Frau, WDR, Wahrscheinlich Peinlich, 3000Grad, Klub Verboten, dokumentART Film Festival und Brigitte veröffentlicht, sowie beim Merlinka Festival in Serbien, während der Berlin Art Week sowie in verschiedenen Galerien ausgestellt.
Zuletzt arbeitete Franziska als Universitätsdozentin und Bachelorthesis-Betreuerin in Berlin, wo sie Fotojournalismus und experimentelle Aktfotografie unterrichtete. Seit 2025 konzentriert sie sich vor allem auf unabhängige künstlerische und dokumentarische Projekte in ihrem "Studio 66,6" im ländlichen Nordosten Deutschlands."

"Franziska Lange is an experimental documentary photographer, photo activist and artist. After working as a self-taught event, street and commissioned photographer, travelling to more than 20 countries and gaining six years of experience behind the camera in the adult industry, she began her formal photography studies on a scholarship in 2019. She graduated at the top of her class in 2021 with the polarizing project HOW WE BLEED (howwebleed.org). Conceived as the first documentary image archive of menstruation, the non-profit project received significant media attention and sparked controversial public debate.
Shaped by chronic pain resulting from a spinal anomaly, as well as by her initial training in the healthcare sector, Franziska’s work is deeply rooted in social and bodily realities. Her projects, some of which are participatory or interactive, explore the human body, pain, illness, relationships, feminism, love, sex and the psyche. They aim to challenge taboos, foster education and awareness, and create spaces for visibility where silence has often prevailed.
Alongside numerous reportages for VICE Magazine, Franziska’s work has been published by ZEIT, Fluter, Deutschlandfunk, Bild der Frau, WDR, Wahrscheinlich Peinlich, 3000Grad, Klub Verboten, the dokumentART Film Festival and Brigitte, and has been exhibited at the Merlinka Festival in Serbia, during Berlin Art Week and in various galleries.
Most recently, Franziska worked as a university lecturer and BA thesis supervisor in Berlin, teaching photojournalism and experimental nude photography. Since 2025, she has focused primarily on independent artistic and documentary projects at her "Studio 66,6" in rural northeastern Germany."
